The Lookout House at Pirates Bay

Most beautiful views in South Tasmania! Beyaitful home with fireplace and heated flooring in the bathroom! Positive: This was the most amazing stay I’ve ever had! The space, how it was styled and the view were 10/10! We wanted to extend our stay but they were booked out!! I’ll be telling everyone about this place! Negative: N/a

Positive: Pleasant view over Pirates Bay. Privacy. Interesting books. Comfortable chairs and some accomplished, original artwork. Negative: The driveway was alarmingly steep with a confined turning area at the bottom which was not sealed. Whilst the wood heater was welcome, an alternative form of heating was not provided. This problem was compounded by the owner’s request that the fire be not left unattended, making it difficult to seek an evening meal elsewhere and heat the house. The double glazing, whilst undoubtedly contributing to the thermal efficiency of the house, has an effect of isolating it from the environment, particularly the sound of the waves.

Absolutely beautiful home. Terrible access. Positive: Location was fantastic. House was stylish and beautiful. Access up incredibly steep driveway that you have to reverse out of was terrible. Negative: Such an impossibly steep driveway with no where to turn around so you have to reverse your car!

Amazing, we absolutely loved this place. I'd rate it 11/10 if I could. Positive: This was amazing!! I loved The Lookout House. Stunning design and layout with functional space to relax and enjoy the stunning views. Well built and insulated to keep us warm with minimal fire use. So comfortable to sit and watch the ocean and stars. Main Bedroom was exceptional and so comfortable. The kitchen was great. We loved using the high equality telescope to watch the ocean and clear night skies. We will definitely be back and want to live here forever!! Negative: Not much to dislike to be honest. It was exceptional. Only thing was there were alot of mosquitoes at night if the balcony door were left open. But honestly it wasn't a problem as we kept the doors closed and opened the windows with fly screens instead.

A fabulous, modern property with great views Positive: This is a great modern property with a giant wow factor. The main room and bedroom has a fabulous view, with floor to ceiling windows. The living room / dining room is spacious and comfortable. We loved lighting the fire. It all felt special. I loved the deck, and watching the southern skies. I appreciated the telescope, and the washing machine for that matter. It was superb. Negative: I couldn't quite get the coffee machine to operate properly, duh :-) Shots, yes, but the foamer - no. A microwave would be a useful addition to the otherwise well-supplied and excellent kitchen. These are just tiny things we noticed.
